Visit to the Troglodyte caves

Yesterday we drove to the Troglodyte Caves. We found out that the caves had a long history, but the only not-pre history residents were the French and the English, In a castle that changed hands regularly. Neanderthals lived inside caves there 55,000 years ago.

The caves were mainly replicated to be like the medieval fort that was there, but there was a tiny Neanderthal cave near the end. We looked at a guardhouse at the entrance, and some half-timbered houses. But the medieval fort had barely begun. We went through a small tunnel and saw a huge shelf in the rock carved out. It took us half an hour to get to the end(but we did stop along the way).

We saw a staircase which was carved out of one piece of rock later on. We also saw the frame of a safe that probably was once sturdy, but now there was no door. When we finished we all agreed that the caves were definitely worth seeing
