The gorge we were going through was beautiful. Every now and then we saw an old building or bridge, and the occasional bit of rock that had the reflection of the water underneath. The gorge twisted this way and that, so I had no idea where we were going (not that I payed any attention ).
We had to steer through the rapids carefully, but quickly to avoid running aground. I knew that rapids occurred because of shallow water. So we avoided white water and bits where the water suddenly went down, because they were dangerous. Occasionally we stopped to take pictures of the magnificent scenery. We stopped to have lunch, then kept on going.
In the second half of our canoeing, the rapids got trickier. We ran aground twice which led us to being infested by flies. I got through most of the rapids because of my knowledge of rapids. When we finally got back to our start, we had bruised backs and aching muscles, but the canoeing was still awesome.
